Open Enrollment News for 2020 Healthcare

With the structure of today’s healthcare options, it’s hard for the average person to navigate.

Where do I start? What kind of plan do I need? Am I getting the best coverage for the best price?

Lots of questions can pop up. Thankfully, we have licensed agents who are here to help, along with this blog post. Here’s what you need to know:

Dates & Deadlines

Open Enrollment begins on October 15th, 2019 for Medicare Part D (Prescription Plans), and firmly ends on December 7th.

Open Enrollment begins on November 1st, 2019 for the Affordable Care Act, and firmly ends on December 15th.

Anytime between these dates for your specific coverage is when changes can be made to your health coverage for the 2020 year. If you want new coverage or to change your current plan, you will need to set up an appointment with Mike between these dates. You can start that process here.

Plan Types

There is quite a variety of plan types when it comes to selecting your health coverage. If you are over 65, you are most likely going to search for coverages such as Medicare Part D (a prescription plan) or Medicare Advantage Plans.

Those under 65 will most likely look for coverage within the Affordable Care Act, such as with individual or family insurance.
