The Government Shutdown: What it Means for Your Insurance Payments
Affects of the Shutdown
The government has been shut down since December 22nd, 2018. This is affecting the entirety of the United States, whether you’re a federal employee or not. Many are still required to work, without pay, or are not allowed to come into work at all.
It has become extremely difficult for families whose breadwinners are federal employees to continue with everyday bills and expenses. Thankfully, a large handful of our insurance providers are aware of these extreme circumstances and are taking action.
Below is a list of the insurance providers who are offering solutions to government employees who may be having any payment problems.
If you are employed through the government and your insurance policy is through any of the providers listed, you may be eligible for deferred payments of your premiums as well as no late fees or growing interest to your account.
Each company is offering a different solution to this current problem, so it’s important that you call our agency to find out what options you could have for your insurance premiums.
